Our club is designed not only to continually nurture the conformation, herding and working aspects of the Bouvier des Flandres, but to build solid relationships with those who own Bouviers.  Anyone who has owned a Bouvier can recognize the specialness of this breed, and likewise, it takes a special kind of person to own a Bouvier; the two go hand-in-hand.

The club is designed to be well rounded and to encompass all the interest of Bouvier owners, from the show ring to the family pet. During the course of the year, our monthly newsletter, The Bulletin, provides articles to cover everyone's interest.  It also informs you of upcoming Bouvier events.

We schedule events throughout the year, such as introduction to agility (the dogs love this - they crawl through tunnels, cross planks and weave through obstacles'); herding (where they can develop their natural instinct to herd); protection training, police work; tracking; obedience, carting and just plain fun in the park.

We hold grooming seminars where you can learn to groom your own dog and/or learn what to look for when choosing a groomer; you can also learn the anatomy of your dog. We include guest speakers at our events, such as veterinarians, judges and others who can give you information on the care, nutritional needs and background history of the Bouvier.

Every year (approximately the last weekend in June) we hold our annual Specialty, where Bouvier owners from all over the country come to show their dogs, either in conformation or obedience. There's a get-together afterwards, providing an opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow club members and other Bouvier exhibitors. It is a wonderful time to exchange information and develop new friendships.

And last, but not least, at year's end we hold our Annual Holiday Awards Brunei:, the Election of the next years' Club Officers and a fundraising auction. Members gather at a restaurant banquet room and have a delicious brunch; we then issue awards to those owners whose dogs have earned titles throughout the year. There is also an auction where you can purchase at a bid price all kinds of amusing Bouvier-related items, from T-shirts and artwork to crates and x-pens. We even auctioned off a vacation condo in Hawaii one year! This is an entertaining event and a great way to close the year. And yet another opportunity to get to know Club members and Bouvier owners on a more personal basis.

Please try to take advantage of all the Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club has to offer you and your dog!
