Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club, Inc.
Est. 1972
Caprice, a bitch, was bred by Julian Bliss, regarded as the “man who kept things going” in the early years of Bouviers in the United States.
He bred his imported bitch, Larraine, to George Young's Bojar van
Westergoo, the first American Bouvier champion. Bojar was bred in 1935 by J. Ferwerda in
Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, and imported by Young in 1936.
The Bojar-Larraine breeding produced three notable bitches, Asta, Inga and Caprice. Jacqueline Bouvier, intended to show Caprice at Westminster in 1942, but Caprice was the only Bouvier entered and there is some question as to whether or not she was shown. Unfortunately, there is no judging record.
