Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club, Inc.
Est. 1972
Events scheduled throughout the Club year are varied and offer an array of fun and engaging activities for companion dog owners as well as show enthusiasts. The SCBdFC strives to include activities with the goal of bringing out the best aspects of our Bouviers.
Herding Instinct Testing – where inexperienced dogs have a
supervised and positive introduction to herding livestock – with
referrals to trainers to expand on herding training and HIC titles.
Obedience, Canine Good Citizen Training & Titles, Rally Obedience –
are all courses that engage owners with their Bouviers, are fun, and
demonstrate the usefulness of our companions to humankind.
Fun events with gymkhana and agility courses that keep dog and handler thinking as they negotiate tunnels, catwalks and weave poles.
Carting opportunities and weight pull contests – in addition to performing in demonstrations and parades, many dogs assist their handlers in daily life by ‘carting home the groceries,’ hauling crates, food and show supplies, and carting supplies into search and rescue which hauls supplies into areas difficult to access.
The Annual Fun Match offers an opportunity to introduce and train our young dogs for the conformation show ring.
Grooming instruction – demonstration classes on how to evaluate a dog for grooming to show them off to their best advantage.
Our monthly Bulletin magazine includes informative and current articles on all aspects of dog ownership, plus features about the health, welfare and nutritional needs of your Bouvier.
